Where did I learn Photography?

My experience mainly comes from lots of practice and working on the set. I have had the good fortune of working with the likes of Chuck Norris, Cuba Gooding Jr., Samuel L Jackson, Peter Greene, 50cent, Jessica Biel, Christina Ricci, Salma Hayek and others. In the about me section I have included some testimonials from some of the professionals in the field. I'm not sure if photography school can actually teach a photographer to see the shot better or not.

How I do things:

I sit down with my client and talk to them. I get to know them the best I can. I get a feel for their style and personality. If I don’t have time to sit down with the client I will get a feel for them while I am shooting.

Can you afford to hire me?

I am not one of those big corporate photographers or one that tosses around thousands of dollars worth of equipment. I also charge a lot less than they do because I work for the art of it, not the money. You get high quality photography, but not the inflated price.

We had the privilege of meeting Tim in Spokane while filming the Cutter. He provided his photography talent in the most professional manner. His work and work ethic's are to be commended.

Chuck and Gena Norris

As a Director of Photography I have a lot of responsibility on a set and my time is valuable, with little time to spare. So it's important that the set photographer do his job in a quiet and extremely professional manner. He has to get great shots, which Tim does time and again, and just as importantly, he has to be invisible so as not to get in the way of our filming of the movie. He can't draw attention to himself but he has to be where the action on the set is. Tim is very good at this as well as is his "eye" for capturing the "moment", either dramatic or an action sequence. Tim came through. He's a pro."

Charles Cohen / DP / END GAME

Tim,
You did a specatular job shooting all of the action on END GAME. I have been doing stunts professionally since 1984. Thru the years, I have had the opporunity to work on some of the biggest films including: THE LAST SAMURAI, WAR OF THE WORLDS, CLEAR AND PRESENT DANGER, WATER WORLD, COLLATERAL, WINDTALKERS, etc... I can honestly say that many of the photographs that you composed, rival the top motion picture still photographers in the film business. I am very happy that you were on set for END GAME, you were truly an asset.

See you on the next one,

Al Goto -- Stunt Coordinator, END GAME

Tim - I feel honored to be the subject of the beginning of a brilliant carreer! MUCH RESPECT!
I have been bragging your name up and down Hollywood.

Cuba Gooding Jr.

Tim,
I wanted to tell you how much you brought to my project "END GAME." To find a still person who can handle all aspects of the movie (action, dialogue and the behind the scenes) is rare. I am sure when our film comes out you will be proud of your work, by the poster and all our ads. I wish you the best and look forward to working together in the future.

Johnny Martin / Martini Films / Producer

Both your photography and on set etiquette are the equal of anyone I have worked with in that field. You have a good instinctive eye for composition and work quietly and quickly. Keep up the good work and I hope we can get together on another film. Best regards

Peter Moss D.P. for the Cutter

We all want to say thank you for the very special photos that you took of all of us in the Norris group and hope that we all get the opportunity to work together again soon.

Myke Michaels -- Hair stylist for Chuck Norris

Hey Tim, Love your pictures...you rock! Talk to you soon.

Daniel Bernhardt -- Dirk in "The Cutter" Agent Johnnson in "Matrix Reloaded"

Tim--a big BIG thank you. Great shots. Keep them coming. Treats for my eyes. Happy Thanksgiving!

Bill Tannen-- Director of "The Cutter"

I live in North Idaho and work in Idaho, but will travel, so you can hire me to go just about anywhere. I photograph weddings in Spokane and Coeur d'Alene mainly, but have traveled as far as Denver and California. In my galleries, which I build rather slowly, you will find images of Coeur d'Alene and the Inland Northwest. I have worked with Cuba Gooding Jr., Chuck Norris, Samuel L Jackson and others. I hope you take a look through the galleries and find what you are looking for. If you would like to hire me to shoot your wedding, senior photos, family photos, or real estate, give me a call.

There are a lot of good photographers in the Spokane / Coeur d’Alene area. The competition is very tough.

Some things you should consider before hiring a Spokane photographer, wedding photographer, or any type of photographer. There are some things you should consider before hiring a Spokane Photographer. First and foremost, check out their portfolio. Does their style agree with you? Some wedding photographers lean towards photojournalism while others appear to have a more commercial feel. Some take happy pictures, and some tend to lean more towards darker subject matter. When I shoot I treat the senior portraits the same as working on the set.

You should also consider the price and what you get for that price.

Most companies around the area charge for each print you buy above and beyond paying for the sitting fee.

Who owns the photos?

The photographer always maintains the right to claim ownership of the images, unless expressly written in a contract where he surrenders his ownership. Since you are buying the images and the photographer has rights to the photo as well, this means you share ownership. The photographer can use the images for self promotion, ie on a website, or in a portfolio and the client has the right to order and sell the images. This agreement can be altered so check the fine print.
Having worked on the set I know a little bit about what goes on behind the camera. :) You don’t have to spend an arm and a leg to get quality shots.
When I shoot I strive to capture something interesting; something worth talking about. The foreground can be just as important as the main subject matter. The shot should have balance and feeling. You should be moved emotionally by the imagery. That is my goal.
You can view details about the movies I worked on by visited the IMDB page they created. I believe you can see samples of my work on those movies as well by visiting the site.
