I love Coeur d’Alene

I love Coeur d’Alene

Let me tell you, (and show you) why.
I came here to visit a little while after my dad passed away in 2000. What I saw surprised me. The resort was pretty large but what really impressed me was what one could do all around the resort. One of the first things I did when I was here with my brother was hike on Tubbs Hill. There were families, athletes and kids swimming on Tubbs Hill, and yet it wasn’t crowded. On the lake there were a number of boaters, jet skiers and kayakers. The weather was warm, but not unbearable. It was a paradise. I kind of wondered why I hadn’t heard of the place before this.

After spending time on Tubbs Hill we walked downtown to Java for an espresso. The outdoor cafe seating, good coffee, non-presumptious attitude, and clean air was euphoric.

I made plans to move from where I was to either the ocean or Coeur d’Alene. After driving the coast I drove through Coeur d’Alene. Again I loved it. Through the large plate glass windows of Java I saw a few people playing chess. I absolutely LOVE chess. That sealed the deal for me. I was going to move to Coeur d’Alene.

After moving here I spent my time riding my motorcycle around the lake on the scenic drive, hiking Mineral Ridge, swimming in the lake, driving around lake Fernan and Hayden Lake, and playing chess downtown. When fall hit, I was overjoyed to see the amount of color in the area! I felt like I was in Maine. When winter hit I was even more impressed. Since my dad died in the winter I was not too fond of it, but Coeur d’Alene changed my view on that. There were fireworks, a HUGE lighting display, spooky fog, carolers downtown, sleigh bells and horse drawn carriages. What more could a person ask for?

Well, I had a couple of things I was looking for to make this area a complete paradise in my mind. A good church, and a decent home. I found both. A nice home just a few blocks from downtown, and Real Life Ministries. I will explain how great Real Life Ministries is when I get a chance. For now, let me just say that I found what I was looking for. Coeur d’Alene is amazing. Come visit, come play, come stay.
