The B&W image can have stunning impact on your off road photos. I would encourage you to go off road and take short hikes or long ones to find those little spots that most tourists and even locals miss. Sometimes the great image is right in front of us and no one bothers to shoot it. Why? Not looking for it. We tend to think that we must shoot the same image that the pro guys shoot, (and sometimes we should) but the competition for shooting that big arch in Arizona or that waterfall in oregon that you have seen a thousand pictures of may not yield a shot that is above or beyond or even equal to the best out there. this B&W shot of a simple area that thousands of people drive by all the time has much more impact in B&W than in color. I posted it as color but did not get many comments or oohs. When I processed it in B&W the positive comments rolled in. Look for little things, simple things that are not ordinarily in the scene. Visualize it. Happy travels.
