The Photography of Timothy Eberly

I break down the category of Photography into about 6 parts.

I could get all philosophical and talk about painting with light or capturing that perfect moment. But the truth is you really only know photography and the photographer by their work. Ansel Adams is as different as Daniel Ewert and Jay Patel. Yes they all shoot landscapes, but how we see them and capture them is really unique to our way of seeing things. Some people are minimalists and others shoot for raw complexity.

I personally am working on making a photo inside of a photo. I will frame a shot and then try to fill that frame with some life, or element that really speaks to that scene.

What I hope you take with you from this site is the experience of how I see things. I live in North Idaho so I spend a lot of my time shooting the rural landscapes before they all vanish. You will find barns and old homes. Winter scenes, fall scenes, summer and spring. Idaho has forest, lakes, mountains, fields and lovely small towns.

Since Spokane is nearby and a wonderful source of historic architecture I will spend time there shooting as well. The shots are a little different in nature since the city is a completely different lifeform. You will see more black and white in the Spokane shots than the others I bet.

Have you ever heard the phrase, stop and smell the roses? Well, I have been trying to live by that ever since my dad died. Well, that and before he died. I thought of myself as a dreamer and one who always looks around to see what is going on that other’s seem to miss. I have been amazed at the ones driving on the road, talking on the cell phone or whatever, and completely missing the sunset. Even those trying to get to a place to enjoy nature many times miss what is right before them. They might miss it because they are too busy with their lives, or because they don’t take the opportunity to get out to see it.

I am a father of three. My lovely wife and I raise our children in the Inland Northwest. We currently are moving to Spokane, because it is closer to my work. Previously we have lived in Colorado, and mainly Coeur d'Alene. I grew up in Ellensburg, and spent 8 years in Seattle. Now I am a Web developer and designer in Spokane. I shoot as much as I can when I can. As far as my photography goes, my experience mainly comes from lots of practice and working on the set.
